Happy Valentine's Day

This was by far the most relaxing day so far. I was able to sleep in until 11:00! Then I ate half a baguette with butter and strawberry jam. Fabienne took me to see an exposition on Brigitte Bardot. Through pictures, film and letters, it showed how she became famous, lived, and what other famous French people had to say about her. I liked Simone de Beauvoir's quote the best. She said that Brigitte does not mean to create scandal. She follows her inclinations. She eats when she's hungry. And what is most shocking to others is that she does not care what they think of her.

We then went to see a French movie called "Une petite zone de turbulences." It was about a man who is a recently retired hypochondriac, whose wife is having an affair, whose daughter is getting married a second time, and whose son is gay. The story takes place from the announcement of the engagement up until the wedding. It was such a typically French comedy. During the movie I dropped my cell phone, so when it was over I reached behind my chair to get it. I grabbed what I thought was the phone, but turns out was the guy behind me's foot. Oopsies.

Lastly, we ate a nutella banana crepe in a creperie near the movie theatre. Delicious. We will eat leftovers tonight and get a good night's sleep before venturing off to Chartres tomorrow.
