Paris

I first have to start by telling the story of the last night in Nice. We ate at a restaurant, and then we went down to the beach where we threw rocks into the water. We also tried to hit the white metal structure with the flags. I was happy to hit a pole, and Crawford successfully hit the back board- which was really far. We also had rock throwing contests- furthest, funniest sounding splash, smallest splash, etc. For the smallest splash, Crawford being ever so cunning, mimed throwing a rock making us believe he had incredible skills at silent splashing.

This morning we took the train to Paris. Luckily, we brought enough food for everyone on the train to have. But we ate it all ourselves. When we arrived in Paris, we went straight to the Eiffel Tower. There, we met up with my friend Fabienne who was eager to play tourist. Unfortunately, the very top level was closed, so we decided instead to go eat croque monsieurs and sandwiches and then get ice cream and cotton candy for a Seine River boat tour. The top of the tower was still closed when we got back, so we will have to go back another day. Instead, we took the metro to the Champs Elysees, walked a little while, and ended up going to see a movie.

Tomorrow we are off to the Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, le Centre Pompidou, and more Champs Elysees.

Shay, the new jean shorts you bought look so much better on you than your friend from the other day! Mary Beth, Julie, and I were working hard in the classroom yesterday planning our new grammar program. We took a short break and looked at your blog. We laughed so hard at all the crazy things that happen on an ordinary day in France.

  2. Is there no fine in Nice for destruction of the rock beach by foreigners? The French are so nice! I hope you do a lot of walking in Paris to get rid of some of the pounds y'all ate on the train ride. The photo in front of the Tour Eiffel looks like fun. Everyone is looking good. Great. Blog on.
