"Rohck eez Bahck" is really just "rock is back" pronounced with a thick French accent-which is how the dude was singing. La fete de la musique had absolutely nothing to do with Woodstock, or the French were misinformed, as the bands covered Led Zepplin, Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones, and Elvis. We had a lot of fun first listening to a Spanish band, then a jazz band that played "When the Saints Go Marching In" and then finally to the rock bands. We loved that they sang the English lyrics with thick French accents which often caused the beat to not be quite right. Then after all that English, they concluded each song by saying "merci." We danced, sang along, and continued to have a really fun time in Montpellier.

Shay, I'm glad you made it there safely! I LOVE THE VIDEOS, especially the ones of people dressed in costumes. Hilarious! All is well on Elmeer. The mammoth is keeping me company (thanks). Read this week's Entertainment Weekly online if you have a chance. It's a good one.

Looks like a fun time was had by all at the music festival. Keep up the good "work" Shay! Insaney jealous! - Andrea
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has to be the led zeppelin. I mean, that is just classic. Plus, you gotta love how the accent throws off the beat (good observation on your part).
ReplyDeleteP.S.
This is Cory. I took a while writing on your blog because I had to spend some time figuring out how to set my own blog posts to super-private.
Oh, and way to catch up in the blogosphere.
