Sete

After class and lunch today, I went with the kids on an excursion to Sete, a port city on the Mediterranean. We went with a bunch of other people from the school and were led by our tour guide Jeremy. (pronounce this of course with a French accent) Sete is a young city, only 300 years old, and was created by Louis XIV. It is called the "little Venice of Languedoc." Languedoc is the region of France. I could see how they would want to call it the little Venice, but Venice it ain't. I mean come on. Cars?! Traffic?! Only three canals?! I don't think so. In any case, it was beautiful with it's view of the sea. The girls and I sat on some rocks watching the water and spying on the sunbathers. They saw their first topless beach lady. Definitely a memorable experience! The whole group then went to the beach for about 45 minutes. I walked in to the water up to my ankles because it was probably 40 degrees. Luckily I was able to use the sand and rocks as exfoliants for my worn and tired feet. Tonight I'm meeting the girls for a crepe nutella banane. I can't wait.

  1. wow the photos are so beautiful! That is a breathtaking place. So why are you spending your time spying on the sunbathers and swimmers instead of arranging to meet the owner of one of those yachts, may I ask? There's 12,000 yachts and all the owners speak French! Get moving! The students want to have a yacht tour, not to mention blog readers! Love, dad

  2. Then, once you're on the yacht, you can sing "I'm on a boat" and get kicked off. Now, that'd be worth blogging about.
