This is it folks. Time again for my fashion update. What are they wearing in France?? Well, simply put, blue and white stripes. Yes, they are cliche French, but they are wearing them like wild. Shirts, scarves, pants, leggings, skirts, shoes, dresses, and blazers. Men, women, and children of all ages- anyone can join in. On the street, probably 1 in 8 people are wearing the stripes. Because it was raining today, we skipped the beach and went shopping. Blue and white, red and white, and black and white stripes can be bought in a multitude of widths, shades, and styles. They look particularly good when paired with red shoes for a pop of color.
Running a close second to stripes are polka dots. Polka dots are very in this season. While the stripes remain traditionally blue, red, and black, polka dots are coming in all colors and on many types of fabric. In the stores today I saw a lot of 50s style dresses with polka dots, others had multi-sized dots, some had just big dots, others had the very small dots. They are almost all one bold color with white dots, though there were some exceptions most notably white with black dots. Do not be afraid to embrace the power of the polka dot! It is a bold statement, especially when mixed with another pattern or a different fabric.
And just for you Cassie, because the Nicois are tan and constantly in the sun, a good moisturizer, blue or purple eyeliner on the blonds, black on the brunettes and a bright gloss are all they are wearing in terms of make-up. Don't fret, I'm sure the parisians are sporting black clothes and red lipstick, but hopefully they are taking a hint from their Mediterranean compatriots and embracing the ever-popular-oh-so-French blue and white stripes.

Please bring back one blue and white stipe shirt or t-shirt, preferably long sleeve, as a fashion conscious statement for me to make. I love being ahead of the fashion curve at my age!!
